Below is a description of each round, the scoring, rules and prizes for Kansas City's Ultimate Hip Hop Artist.

Rounds
QUALIFIER: This is the first show artists will play in Kansas City's Ultimate Hip Hop Artist. The Qualifier Round will be split up into "heats" of 4-5 artists. The artist in each "heat" with the most Fan votes will advance to the next round.
SEMI-FINAL: The second round is the Semi-Final. The artist that advances from the Semi-Final will be determined by a 50-50 Judge to Fan Vote. In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be Fan Vote. If that does not break the tie, a Judge(s) re-vote will break the tie.
CHAMPIONSHIP: This is the final round. The winner of the Kansas City's Ultimate Hip Hop Artist will be chosen by Judges Votes. In the event of a tie, a Judge(s) re-vote will break the tie. top
Rules
FAN VOTING: When fans vote, the rule will be one ballot per person. Artists will be eligible to vote. The artist that receives the most fan votes will get 10 points. The artist with the 2nd most fan votes will get 8 points. The artist with the 3rd most fan votes gets 6 points. Artists that finish 4th in the fan votes will get 4 points. Artists that finish 5th in the fan votes will get 2 points.
JUDGES VOTING: Judges will rank the artist as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Artists will be awarded 10 points for each 1st place ranking. 8 points for each 2nd place ranking. 6 points for each 3rd place ranking. 4 points for each 4th place ranking. 2 points for each 5th place or lower ranking. The average score of the Judges vote will be applied to determine winner of Semi-Final Round.
PERFORMANCE: Unless otherwise indicated, artists will perform 10 minute sets at all dates in Kansas City's Ultimate Hip Hop Artist competition. Artists may enter in more than one act or collaboration. However, artists will only be allowed to perform in one act or collaboration per show in Qualifier Round.
Prizes
- 1st place grand prize will be $1,000, and 10 hours at Chapman Recording. 36 band t-shirts from Brown Bear Printing.
- 2nd Place Finalist will receive $500 and 5 hours at Chapman Recording.
- 3rd Place Finalist will receive $300 and 5 hours at Chapman Recording.
- Remaining Finalists will receive $200 and 5 hours at Chapman Recording.
- MORE PRIZES MAY BE ANNOUNCED
Entering
ELIGIBILITY: For artists to be eligible they must be based in Kansas and Missouri.
